How to Dropship from Aliexpress

Drop shipping is business model where a seller obtains a product from a manufacturer and sells it to the buyer without necessarily keeping inventory. The manufacturer is the one who delivers the product to the final buyer.

It is one of the easiest ways to start an online shop. You pay nothing to your product supplier until you make a sale.In this post, I will be teaching you how to dropship from Aliexpress with 50 dollars or less, so hang on with me as I take you through.

*there are affiliate links in this post, please see my disclaimer policy*

To learn how dropshipping works, please read my post on 5 easy steps to running a drop shipping business.  In this fresh post, I will be writing about how to dropship from Aliexpress.

Aliexpress is an online marketplace much like Amazon, except that it is for Chinese sellers. In Aliexpress you get a congregation of manufacturers or big-time whole sellers who sell products to you at the manufacturer’s price, which means they sell at a lower price than you will get at your normal everyday store.

AliDropship is the best solution for drop shipping

If you want to start selling online without holding inventory, to drop ship from Aliexpress will be the best method to follow.I have been part of forums where people do not understand how to dropship using Aliexpress, hence the need for this post.

The first thing about selling online is that you have to determine what you want to sell i.e defining your niche, if you don’t know what to sell then it will be difficult for you to know how to market or sell your products.

Defining your niche will help you narrow down to what you want to sell and hence decide where you want to source for those products from.

The next thing to do when you discover what you want to sell is to find suppliers.

For the purpose of this post, I will only be treating using Aliexpress as a supplier to your Business. There are other ways of finding suppliers, you can read that up in my earlier post.

How to Choose a Supplier  when you want to Dropship from Aliexpress

The first thing to do before you start searching for your suppliers in the Aliexpress platform is to register on the site.

Register on Aliexpress

Your registration on the platform will give you the opportunity to send emails or messages to your supposed suppliers, you will also be able to follow a store, this helps you save your suppliers so that you don’t keep searching afresh each time you want to make a purchase.

I  suggest that once you have adjudged your supplier to be the one you will use, you follow the store immediately so it is saved in your account. Anytime you want to use that supplier you just check your account and click on the store to go directly to that store without necessarily searching for the store again.

Please note that you cannot search for store names, you can only search for products.

Registration does not take more than a minute, it’s no different from registering on Amazon.com

Before you start choosing a supplier for your products when you want to dropship from Aliexpress, there are certain key metrics that you must look out for.

Metrics for Choosing a Supplier

1 How long has the supplier been open for Business:

Before you choose to order from a supplier the first thing that you should check out is how long has this store been selling on this platform. This will give you a sense as to how reliable that supplier is. It will do you no good to pick a newcomer on the platform who is still trying to get off on his business. There will not be enough reviews for you to know if that person has been consistently delivering to her customers. I will normally go with someone who has been in business for over two years.

2 Check for Feedback scores:

On the Aliexpress platform, all shops have a feedback score attached to them which are usually graded in percentages, this feedback score is a sum total of an average number of people who returned a good feedback on the products they bought from the shop.

How to dropship from Aliexpress

Most times, the shop owners are always encouraging you the buyer to leave a good feedback. In fact, they often remind you via emails to come back and leave feedback so that they will know you were satisfied.

Your feedback is often in form of written notes, star ratings and perhaps even pictures to show that you received the item.

This score is perhaps what Aliexpress uses to grade a particular seller.

I will go with sellers that have a 98% feedback score and upwards.

Sometimes you will see a seller who is considered a Top brand, such sellers may not have a feedback score percentage attached but they have a top brand badge on their platform, this indicates that Aliexpress trusts the quality of products sold by that store.

3 Number of Orders

Before selecting a supplier for your products, you need to check for the number of orders they have processed, it may be for your particular product or for another product from the seller.

This is because you want to know that the person you are going to buy from is really selling products consistently.

You want to check out the hot selling products and the number of orders that the product has sold out.

How to Dropship from Aliexpress

Most times, you will see that the hot selling products for that store has a lot of reviews, you should take your time to read the reviews not just the good ones but the bad reviews too.

You want to know how the seller handles bad customer experience. It’s not enough to say that we will refund your money if you do not like our products, but do they actually do that? Of course, Aliexpress offers buyers protection but you may want to buy from someone who has integrity.

4 Check for shipping options:

What shipping options do they have? and do they offer epacket? I will always go with anyone that offers epacket because it gives you the opportunity to offer free shipping to your customers which will make the customer happy and encourage repeat sales.

5 How long does it take for your Product to arrive

Depending on where you are selling in, perhaps in US or UK or maybe you are shipping worldwide, you have to check what time it takes for your order to arrive.

Orders that are shipped to the US take from 12-20 days to arrive via epacket. I sold an item during the Christmas period to a customer and my order reached my customer in 10 days. I was quite impressed.

The time it takes for your customer to get their order is important since you don’t want an irate customer that did not get his or her orders on time.

I will suggest that you add a little lead time to your own product shipping time, this will give you leverage for any delay in shipping from your suppliers.

6 Communicate with your supplier by sending him a message.

Contact your intending supplier to find out if they dropship from Aliexpress. It’s important not to assume that every seller on Aliexpress must want to dropship.

Some may not want to, so it’s important to check out with the seller and let them confirm to you that they are willing to dropship for you, should you make a sale.

7 Make a test order:

You could test order the product you want to sell so that you can check out the process, as this will enable you to know what the whole process will be like. It will also give you an idea of how the actual product looks like.

Pictures don’t always tell the whole story. You may need to handle the product and packaging to know if its worth using that person as a supplier.

8: Take advantage of the App To Dropship from Aliexpress

Aliexpress has an app which you can download on your phone to use. I have noticed that goods are often cheaper on the app. You can take advantage of the app to get cost savings on your product sourcing.

After you have completed these preliminaries, you now want to start your online shop.

Cost of Setting up your Online shop

There are basically two options you can go with when you want to start drop shipping a product. You can choose to sell on an online marketplace e.g Amazon, Bonanza, or you can choose to sell on your own hosted ecommerce shop using such deliverers like Shopify, Big commerce or Wix.

I wrote a post on Online marketplace versus ecommerce shop, you can read It up to check out the pros and cons of using any of those methods.

Selling on Amazon as an individual seller is free while selling on Bonanza is free except for charges which you only pay when you make a sale.

If you choose to use an ecommerce shop deliverer as I noted above, it will cost you the following amount

Shopify- basic- $29

Wix -$16.50

Domain name registration through each platform is – 10 dollars.

So the big question that is still hanging now is how to add these products to your e-commerce shop.

How to Add Products to your Ecommerce shop

You can choose to do it manually- quite time-consuming- you have to cut and paste each picture to your online shop. Plus you will have to manually maintain your pricing, ordering, and tracking.

or you can use this very important Plugin Alidropship which takes care of the following

Product Automation: This includes search and importation of products to your shop, pricing update, epacket filter options, Order fulfillment, auto tracking and also the auto update on product information. For more on how this plugin can change your dropshipping business, click Here.

Customization: This includes Free themes, built in product customization, unlimited products addition, woocommerce support, product variation.

Marketing: This includes, email lists, cart abandonment, discount coupons, product reviews.

Managing: This includes Live statistics, cashback system, payment gateway integration.

AliDropship is the best solution for drop shipping
If you chose to go with hosting your shop on Wix, you may find that you have an extra 23 dollars which you will use to set up your first Facebook Ad, in other to attract your first customers.

Please note: Aliexpress is different from Alibaba.com. Most people think they are the same but they are not, Alibaba.com caters to people who want to import physical goods and then distribute or ship themselves and they often require a minimum order number for you to use them.Alixpress sells to anyone even if it is one article you want to buy.

Other alternatives to Alixpress could be joining online directories who curate and qualify manufacturers.

An example of such an online directory is Salehoo. You pay an amount yearly to have access to suppliers in their database who are prequalified by them. The only thing is that you still have to do the due diligence of reaching out to each one supplier and creating a relationship.

Do you want me to help you do all the written due diligence above? contact me for consulting.

4 strategies to Jumpstart your Newyear as a Home Business Owner
4 Things you Must Do to Jump start your Newyear as a Home business owner

It’s the last of day of the year 2017, today is probably a day of reflection for many people. It’s a time to recheck the different areas of your life to see how you ran throughout this year.

Those different areas could be your home, marriage, finances, relationships, business or career depending on which divide you fall into. You may be wondering how to Jumpstart your Newyear in the area of your business so as to ensure that you have an early start for the first quarter of the year.

Today will be that day you will be wondering how you have fared throughout the year if you had plans for the year you may want to pull out your plans and compare notes to see what you achieved.

While for some, this is an exercise that will bring exciting news as they see that they have achieved all that they have set out to achieve.  For some, it may be sad because they could not achieve all they set their mind to, whichever divide you fall into, thank God that you are alive to make new plans and dream again.

Today you can take a look at those areas and begin to work and strategize to see how to take a different approach to achieve success where you failed before. In doing this I would like to share with you

4 strategies to be mindful of as you Jumpstart the New year as a Home business owner.

1 Planning ,Strategy & execution:

You may have started the outgoing year without planning or strategy talk more about execution. If this was how you ran the outgoing year, then do not repeat this same thing in the incoming year, even if you are afraid of planning, its time to whip out a Planner and begin to plan for the next year. You have to set down a laid down path to your success for the coming year if you want to Jumpstart your new year on a good note. To learn more about how to plan your week please read my post on how to kick chaos and plan your week as home business owner.

It’s a wise saying that he who fails to plan, plans to fail, Its time therefore for you to do some research on what strategies you will employ to ensure that your plan is executed. A big plan and strategy on paper without execution is useless.

A blogging binder that features
Honest Bloggers Binder by Sarah Titus

For you to execute all that you have written down, here is what you need to do

– Write down what goal you need to achieve per quarter

-Break it down into targets for the week

-Break down your targets into daily to-do lists and mark it as done once you have achieved it

– Measure and Test:  You have to measure your success and see if your strategy is working. For instance, if your quarterly goal is to reach a pageview of say 3000 per month, then you have to write down your initial pageview before you begin your strategy.

You can then track your progress by writing down your weekly stats to see if you are making progress or not. This will help you to change strategy should what you not be seeing any results.

– Finally, if you have got the hang of it, rinse and repeat if it’s working for you.

2 Your Product.

Your product or service is what you are offering to the consumer in exchange for their resources, that’s how you make money.  For you to jumpstart your Newyear you have to take a good look at your product line and outline what income streams you expect to produce your income this year. In doing this, here are some pertinent questions you need to answer

-Does your product meet the consumer desires? is there a demand for your product?

-Do you think your product makes an impact on the consumer’s mind? if it does not, then its time to either repackage it to make it more attractive or throw it out completely and find something else that is of value to your consumer.

-If you are a blogger, its time you did your audience analysis, what are the characteristics of the audience you desire? and are you attracting same? if you are not, what do you need to do to attract your desired audience?

Everyone will be willing to pay good money for what they consider valuable to them, so in checking the characteristics of your product, here are key points  you should consider

VigLink banner

– Is it valuable- Does your target market consider your products valuable enough to pay your money for it.

-Is there a demand for your product-

-Does is it solve a particular problem for the consumers

– Is it Unique, perhaps not in content but in approach to the consumer’s needs

-Does it have a mass appeal at least to your target market

-Is it simple to use, that is you can easily explain how it works without any issues

If your product or service answers all of this questions then you are good to go. If it does not, then you have to go back to  the drawing board to either craft out a new product or re-design what you already have to answer the following questions

3 Your Finances

In this Newyear, as a business owner, you will have to take a good look at your finances both in the business and home.Perhaps its time you set goals for the amount of money you want to make per month. Do you know that setting goals often forces your subconscious mind to begin to think of ways of meeting it?

If you set a specific financial goal for your business, then you will force yourself to do everything possible to meet your goals because you know that in meeting it, you will attain a level of success that will give you the kick you need to go higher.

If it is your personal goals that you need to deal with, then go ahead and set them but remember that there has to be a pipeline that feeds it. For example, if your personal goal is to be able to save a certain amount by the end of the quarter, then you have to look for what will feed in that pipelines in other to meet that goal. It may be through budgeting, cost cutting or increasing your ability to earn more.

Your ability to successfully set a financial goal for your home business will give you a boost that will enable you to feel better as you go on to meet your life’s needs. If you are able to meet most of your financial needs as they arise, you often feel successful because that’s what it is. Your business or career is that pipeline that enables you to achieve the life goals you have set for yourself by giving you the needed finances to meet it.

4 Your Marketing

In the online business world, especially if you are a home business owner you can’t do without marketing, in fact, marketing is the lifeblood of any business. So for your business, you must have a marketing plan in place. You have to be deliberate in following through with your plans if you want to see tangible results and jumpstart your Newyear.

In your planning stage, you have already itemized what worked and what didn’t work for you this year in your business, so the next stage is to take what worked and plan how to make it work the more this year in other to yield better results. You can also put new marketing plans in place in other to see if this will make your business better.

If you have no idea how to prepare your marketing plan then its time you did a little bit of research, search for marketing plans that have to do with your niche.  For example, If you want to start a blog or perhaps you are already blogging but you are not seeing results, its time to check out what your competitor who is doing better is doing so you can know what to adapt and tweak to fit your own audience.

To wrap this up, I do want you to know that running a home business is no mean feat but you have to be willing to put all you have into it to make it a success, as I champion you on via my blog.

Thank you for reading my blog all through this year, I wish you a very successful Business year ahead. God bless you and see you next year.

Pro’s and Con’s of Choosing a Home Business versus a Work from Home Job

Pro's and Con's of a home business versus a work from home job
Home Business versus work from home Job?

When you make up your mind that you want to work from home, the first question that will usually pop into your mind is how do I go about this?, should I start looking for work from home job? or should I start a home business?.

The jury is still out there as to what is the best route to take, for some people it is a difficult decision to make especially if you are coming from a place where you were working outside your home and had a stable income which you brought into your home. What this means is that you already have a lifestyle which you have set up your home and of course choosing to work from home means that you are putting that lifestyle into a jeopardy because you will move from a place of stable income to unstable income or perhaps just one income from your hubby.

In today’s post, I will be comparing the Home business and the work from home Job, the Pro’s and Con’s perhaps this may help some of you who may be ambulating on what route to take.

First of all, before you decide to make the decision of working from home, you must make some certain preparations, I do know some people tend to jump in with both feet to either swim or sink. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t this is because needs are different and makeups are different.

There will be those who will take the option of choosing to work from home without taking time to plan things out perhaps because they fear that If they take the time to plan things out, they may procrastinate and never make that decision.

While some like to plan their approach, they save up some money to cushion the times they will be taking to build their business from home before resigning from their jobs.
I will prefer that you plan your route before ever you make that decision to quit your job and start working from home, this may mean cutting down on some niceties in other  to save up your money to help cushion your family needs while you build your business or find work from home jobs that will replace your initial income.

This planning ahead of time will help you stay true to what you are working on and prevent you from running into financial stress which may force you to return to your former job.
It is also much easier to run your business or work from home when you don’t have to worry about finances at least for the beginning stage until things kick off.
If you are already a stay at home mom, it makes your decision easier because you may not need to do extra planning since you are already used to living on one income anyway. You may have to perhaps save up some income or initial capital outlay that you will need to start your business though.

Having highlighted the thoughts above here are the pros and cons of starting a Home Business versus a Work from home Job in other to earn your income from home.

Pro’s of a work at Home Job
-You can apply the skills you already have on a job that is immediately available and begin to earn almost immediately once you are able to secure a job. ( often times to shorten this time lapse of looking for a  work from home job, its best to start looking and secure one before you resign your day job)

-You do not have to have an initial cash outlay hence you can start on virtually zero cash except for perhaps money spent on registering on Job sites that specialize in hiring for remote positions.

-You do not need to draw up a business plan or a strategic marketing plan for your work at  home job since you will be trading your skills for money.

-Other people set your targets and there are specific tasks which you are set to deliver and your work is finished for the day. Your work is not continuous till when you are tired as in a Home business

-You get some benefits such as Health insurance if it applies to your job.

-You can choose to take a  holiday if your work is a freelance job meaning you choose when you work and when you don’t.

-Your remuneration is fixed and you know exactly how much you will earn at the end of the month.

Con’s of Work from home jobs
-There are a lot of scam work at home Job sites out there, therefore it takes a lot of time to sift out the genuine ones, this often takes time. To learn about the genuine ones read my post on 10 best sites for work from home jobs.

-There is a limit to how much you can earn per month since you trade time for money, you will have to work for a certain amount of hours before you can earn your desired amount.

-Your income is entirely dependent on the company you work for, meaning that should there be a shift in purpose and you don’t fit in you will lose your job and income.

-Because it takes time to find what works in the work at home job market, you may find your self-waiting for a while without any income at all. What this means is that you situational change is out of your control.

-For the same skills which you may have been paid more when you had to clock into the office, you may be paid less and if you are in a dire position you may find that you are working more for less pay.

Pros of starting a  Home Based Business
-You are your own boss so you can control how much you earn from your business, hence there is no limit to how much you can earn.

-You do not have to clock in with any supervisor so you can set your own time and work at your own pace

-There is no cap on how much you can earn since you can scale your business as it grows and expands.

-You can apply the skills you already have to your new business especially if your home business ties into what was your career before you quit your job to work from home, hence shorten your learning curve in running your business. Time to profit will also be shortened.

-There is freedom of doing whatsoever helps your business to excel without having to check in with a company to see if it fits into their organizational goals.

-You don’t have to look for a job or depend on someone hiring you for you to create your own income, you already have a job so you get on with it.

-You are in control of your own destiny.

Cons of  Starting a Home-based business
-You may need some initial capital to start your business, and because business takes time to grow, it may mean that you will run for a time without any income coming in at all.

-You may not begin to earn immediately you begin to work unlike the work at home job option that you get paid once you start working.

-There is no fixed task that says your job has ended for the day you may find that you are continuously working until you get tired. You are sort of the business and the business is you, this means that you have to be super self-motivated to keep at it until it begins to yield a return.

-If your business should fail, you may have to return to a day job because you will probably need money to foot your bills.

-A home business takes a lot of planning and a strategic input coupled with a lot of marketing before it can take off and sometimes this may take longer than you expected.

-Sometimes you will have to invest resources, money, time and energy to learn how to run your business properly in other for you to see a difference and begin to make a profit.

Advantages and disadvantages of choosing a work from home job versus a starting a Home Business
Pro’s and Con’s of home business versus work from home Job

Having laid out the pros and cons associated with choosing either route when deciding to work from home, I have to say that the good thing about these options is that they can be combined, there is no hard and fast rule that says you must stick to one.

Some people in other to meet up with their financial needs may choose to take a part-time work from home jobs while they slowly build their business to replace their former income.
For some, especially if you are a stay at home mom, you may choose to build your home business slowly while still maintaining the lifestyle you had before until you begin to see profit in your business
For whatever route you choose to take or the combination thereof, what matters is doing what makes it easy to pursue and attain your dreams of being a stay at home mom who is doing what she loves and at the same time taking care of your loved ones.

Ultimate cheat sheet on Newbie Blogging

Newbie Blogging
Ultimate Cheat Sheet for Newbie Blogging

I started my Blogging Journey after  I read a book written by Anik Singal of Lurn Nation Inc, that book is Circle of Profit. By this time last year, if you had told me I would be blogging, I would have laughed in your face. I knew what Blogging was but I didn’t understand how it worked. I never knew I will be writing about Newbie Blogging but here am I.

Fast forward some couple of months into the New year, and I read this Book (circle of Profit) that changed my life, that was when I decided to be a blogger. I purchased my domain name and hosting on the 26th of Feb 2017 but I couldn’t put down my first post because I just had a Baby in January.  But then came March and I was able to.

Technically my Blog is about to clock  8 months old. In these 8 months, I have had my highs and lows, I have wanted to quit sometimes but I have kept at it because I knew it was something I wanted to do and because of the impact I am making on stay at home moms who would like to start a home business.

In this 8 months, here are the hard knocks that I will call the Ultimate cheat sheet points for  Newbie Blogging

Your content Matters:

I have written various Blog posts since I started, in fact, my earlier posts are a joke because I didn’t know what I was doing or how to write a proper Blog post. I purposely left those posts because I want to see how far I have come since I have started.

The content you put out on your Blog post matters because without a good content you will not be able to attract your Niche market. I know because  I have written some wishy-washy posts that only attracted me the writer Lol.

As time went on, I have learned to research my Blog posts keenly and be sure that I have enough information that will keep my audience wanting more. Without much information on your Blog post, people will be wondering why you are writing in the first place.

People( Your Niche market) are searching for a solution so when your page turns up you better provide it or they are off. The online world, unlike the real world, does not have time for you to persuade them that you will still provide what they need, people are so busy they barely have up to 5 sec to glance throughout your Blog in search of a solution. You have that much time to get their attention and keep it, where you are not able to keep it you lose them.

How do you know that you are loosing your Niche market?  you can check your bounce rate from your stats, if you have a high bounce rate then chances are that you are not able to hold the attention of the people that read your blog post.  Bounce rate is the percentage of the amount of time that people spend on your Post. Where it is high, its often an indication of not enough quality content or your tags are attracting the wrong people to your pages.

Cultivate your Market:

Except you are blogging for pure pleasure and don’t have any need to monetize your Blog that is when this second point won’t make much sense for you. But if you are planning to monetize then the sensible thing to do is to cultivate your (niche) market. Take the time to plant the posts that they desire and take time to nurture your audience, they are the customers to your business, if you do not nurture them, the Blog won’t grow and your business won’t grow either.

Cultivating your market in Newbie Blogging may mean continuously giving out good content for a while without asking for anything back until your audience can trust you enough to want to pay for content when you ask them to.

In the blogging world, you have to give first before you get so it takes time and energy to keep doing what you are doing until your rewards start coming in. Some people ask how soon can one monetize a blog?, I say it depends on your audience. if you already built an audience before you launched your Blog, then you perhaps may be able to start immediately but if you just started out with zero credibility, then you have to take time to build it.

Networking Matters:

Sometimes the reason why people like to blog is that they feel they can just hide behind a computer system and just type away. Again you can only do that if you have no interest in making money from your blog. If you do have the intention to make money then you have to get out from behind your computer and connect with other people.

That’s how you will get to understand what works and what doesn’t work. You will also learn a ton of stuff from the discussions especially if you join Facebook groups that are important. In these groups, you will be able to see opportunities that will help you grow your blog.

Through networking, you will also increase your chances of gaining access to sponsored posts opportunities that you will literally not have been able to get on your own.

Promoting your Content:

Okay fess up, I have written about promoting your content before in another post but it’s a point that is worth reiterating because people make the mistake of writing a great content and then waiting for the world to discover them. I mean they sit on their behinds and wait but all they hear is crickets.

In this age where attention span is just a flash,  for Newbie Blogging, you have to be out there promoting what you have got or you never get discovered. That’s why you can’t even start a blog without having your socials (I am talking about Facebook, Twitter Pinterest, and Instagram) set up. These 4 social networks are the most basic which you must have before you go anywhere else.  I believe its good practice to start engaging with your audience on these platforms even before you launch your blog.

I made that same mistake and I regret it, my socials are not well built up today because I waited too long to start a socials page for my Blog. Then I only even started Facebook and I never had a share button installed on my Blog until someone pointed it out to me.

You will think that should be something I could have figured out so easily but I didn’t since I am not a blogging pro.  I believe that setting up your social pages and installing your share buttons should come first before you launch your blog post. This is because even when people visit your page and they would like to read it later, the only way they can save it is by sharing on their own social page which gives you more exposure. If they can’t-do that you have lost that opportunity of getting your content out there.

Research the Niche  of your Newbie Blogging and Then go find where they Hang out:

I never understood how powerful the word Niche could be in Newbie Blogging until I started my Blog. When I decided I wanted to blog, I had no idea what my blog will be about.

It took me days of researching and trying to fit my experience and skills to know what I wanted to blog about. I had to then decide what niche I was going to play in. it was quite a tough one but I nailed it when I was able to marry my interest and burning passion with the people that needed it, that’s how I came about blogging about helping stay at home moms start a home business to support their lifestyle.

This was the aspect  I  struggled a lot with and I also know that a lot of Newbie bloggers still struggle with. Sometimes It takes a whole lot of time and perhaps even practice before you are able to narrow down to what really works for you.

In my own case, I knew that my ability to have a home business helped me a great deal to manage the issues of having kids and still earning a living. I then decided that Blogging and its related business will serve me well and also help my audience achieve their main goal of staying at home with their babies while also growing a business. I may not have the typical audience that is easy to sport just like you have maybe Football lovers but I do know that there are millions of women who struggle daily with having to leave their jobs to become a Stay at home mom and also those who want to become one but can’t afford to because they need the income they make from their jobs, still I press on in finding them through the forums and groups I visit and belong to in other to pass to them the help that they need to get to where they want to be.
